Sephora Haul: Quarantine Edition
Updated: Dec 12, 2021
Over the course of this quarantine–that’s a phrase I never thought I’d be writing–I had this shocking epiphany. I’ve had this blog for so long and I’ve never really put in 100% effort into it. Which is a damn shame because this is one nice-looking blog layout. It can be hard to find the time, yes, but through some soul searching I’ve discovered that I had started to associate ‘make-up’ with my job instead of my passion.
For those of you reading this that may not already know, I have been working in the beauty industry since 2013. So, this association is something that’s developed over the course of years and I just felt ready to change that! So, I did as any normal person would (I think) and decided to get my creative passion back for make-up and went on a little shopping spree. Here are some things I picked up and am truly excited to start playing with!
Now, although I do work in the beauty industry, I hardly buy makeup myself. A lot of the time I get things given to me in gratis for free so I’m able to try things out that way, and I still have the mindset that I had as a teenager which has always be you can get makeup from the drugstore but not from the fancy-schmancy expensive side of the store. So I never really splurge on myself in that way… which all changed of course when I decided to just bite the bullet and get some Natasha Denona palettes that I had been dreaming of for years because …well as quarantine has taught us, nothing is ever certain. So just go for it! Which is exactly what I did. These were definitely the products I was the most excited for!
I was in the market for a new contour powder and right when I was on the hunt, Fenty Beauty came out with cream contours. Now, normally I really dislike cream contours because they get dry, they come out patchy, and they can be too intense. However, I saw the reviews on this one and it looked really blendable and beautiful so I wanted to give it a shot. And then, of course, this is just my everyday brow pencil from benefit! IT’S AMAZING! And I normally don’t like pencils for brows but somehow this one has changed my mind.
These next two are from Stila, my favorite brand for glitter shadows. I was dying to get these and a couple of others because Stila is no longer going to be sold at Sephora so I wanted to grab them before they were gone forever! Got ’em just in the nick of time.
Thank you guys for reading (if you did lol), and keep a lookout for those future posts reviewing these products. It feels good to be back!
